The Seattle Gaels invite boys and girls, ages 7-14, to attend its Irish Sports Youth Camp. Our youth camps offer two days of fun and exciting learning of Gaelic Football and Hurling with the most highly qualified staff in our organization. We offer a quality teaching experience for players and provide playing opportunities for all children at their respective levels of experience.
Daily Activities:
o Gaelic Football - Introduction to the game, rules, basic playing skills, roles (technical, team-play) and scrimmage
o Lunch Break
o Hurling - Introduction to the game, basic playing skills, safety, roles (technical, team-play) and scrimmage
Objectives:
1. Promote youth Gaelic sports
2. Full Participation: Provide playing opportunities for all children at their respective levels of participation by ensuring everyone gets to learn and play in a game and that nobody remains a substitute. "Playing, not winning, is the name of the game."
3. Promote sportsmanship: Ensure that all participants try to play by the rules and give due respect to the opposition and the game.
4. Cater for the varying developmental needs of young players: Use modified playing rules and equipment that are appropriate to the age group and ability level of those participating.
5. To have fun!
Cost:
$30 per child. Each child receives a free t-shirt. Please indicate the size on the application.
